Winter 2012
This course deals with synthetic organic chemistry, predominantly of aliphatic compounds, and is based on a mechanistic understanding of the important reactions addressed. Specific subjects are addressed in the course outline.
Prerequisite: The prerequisite for this course is 59-235 or its equivalent from other universities.
Textbook: We will be going from my notes for this course, but the best reference book is
Organic Chemistry, by Clayden, Greeves, Warren, and Wothers (ISBN 9780198503460). This book is not mandatory
