Required texts:  The ABC's of Naming Organic Compounds (McIntosh, available from Document Imaging Centre $20.00)

The New and Improved ABC's of Organic Chemistry

(McIntosh) (from Document Imaging Centre $41.81

OR

 Organic Chemistry (McMurry) (7th edition - from bookstore)

The McMurry book will be usable in 59-235 next semester. However, the 230 course will follow the content of "The ABC's" much more closely.
 

Optional Aids

Answer manual for "ABC's" text  - available from stockroom ($18.00)

Molecular Model Kit - from the bookstore. (VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED-YOU NEED THIS!) - It will be used this year in one of the laboratories.

For the Laboratory

Required: Safety Glasses (Bookstore), Caution Cards (Cahier's Office),  Laboratory Manual (Document Imaging Centre)

                        lab coat (available from Chemistry Club - location to follow)

NB. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE LABORATORY WITHOUT SAFETY GLASSES. NO LEND OR RENT PROGRAM FOR GLASSES WILL BE IN OPERATION FROM THE STOCKROOM.  IF YOU FORGET YOUR GLASSES, YOU WILL HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER PAIR.
